I’d like to know if an interview is always scheduled after a marriage-based green card petition.
I’m going through a green card process based on marriage.
I’ve heard the interview might not happen at all — I’d like to know if a USCIS interview is always scheduled.
Immigration regulations 245 and 246 govern the interview process required for someone changing status within the U.S., but exceptions to that rule allow a child under 14, or anyone USCIS determines at its discretion doesn’t need an interview, to receive their green card without one.
