Whether the interview can be waived when a citizen sponsors their parent for a green card
I’m a citizen who just turned 21. I’d like to sponsor my out-of-status parent living in the U.S. for a green card.
I’ve heard the interview may be waived. Is that really possible?
Yes, generally this is waived. This is because a citizen’s parent, being included in the exempt category, leaves little room for a fraudulent parent-child relationship claim.
