Whether entering through Hawaii to maintain my green card counts as being in the U.S.
Hello. As a green card holder, it’s difficult for me to travel all the way to the mainland to maintain my green card.
I’d like to know if entering through Hawaii would count as being in the U.S. for green card maintenance purposes.
Hawaii is an island, but it’s recognized as part of the U.S. mainland for this purpose. However, if it appears you’re entering solely to maintain your green card, the entry inspection may consider your overall intent to reside in the U.S.
