You don’t need to have the green card card. Complete a Green Card Replacement application (Form I-90) and file for citizenship. Normally, you’re expected to have the green card card when applying for citizenship. Once you file for a replacement, you’ll be fingerprinted within about a month. They’ll place a green card stamp valid for about 6 months to a year in your passport, so plan your entry within that window.
