Can I visit Korea while my H-1B extension is pending?
I filed for an extension, but it’s taking so long that when I asked my attorney, they said I may need to wait another 4 months.
I’m currently anxious about my status as it is, but something has come up requiring me to briefly return to Korea. I’d like to know if I can re-enter once the visa is issued.
Yes, you can re-enter once the visa is issued — as long as you don’t have grounds that would make you inadmissible, such as a prior period of unlawful presence or an immigration-law violation. If any of these apply to you, please be sure to consult with an attorney before leaving.
