Can the interview still be waived for a parent-sponsorship green card process if the citizen child isn’t currently in the U.S.?
My citizen child is currently in Korea due to military service. I’d like to know if the interview can still be waived for a parent-sponsorship green card process while the child is not in the U.S.
In other words, I’d like to know if the interview waiver still applies even when the citizen child is outside the U.S.
Generally, the interview waiver applies only if the citizen’s minor child is residing within the U.S. If they’re abroad, an interview may be required. Whether there’s a special rule related to military enlistment specifically is something that would need to be looked into.
