Documents required for an O-1 visa

The following are generally required:

1. Receipt of a Nobel Prize, Academy Award, major academic award, or another internationally recognized prize
2. Membership in associations that require review by internationally recognized experts to join
3. Published material in professional/trade journals or major media coverage
4. Evidence of a significant, original contribution in the arts, sciences, academia, or business (often shown through articles noting a world-first achievement or discovery of a new field)

5. A leading or critical role at an organization with a distinguished reputation
6. Tax records showing a high salary earned in the profession
7. For actors or performers: box office records, and record or video sales showing commercial success
8. Objective evidence of commercial success in the arts
