O-1 visas are broadly divided into the following categories:
First, science
Second, arts
Third, athletics
Fourth, business
Fifth, education
As shown above, the visa is broadly divided into five fields. Anyone recognized as having extraordinary ability in one of these fields is eligible to apply. Applicants in these fields often already have substantial material to demonstrate their talent, and even those who don’t will typically be able to secure material that supports their case. If the O-1 visa holder has a spouse, the spouse can apply for an O-2 visa at the same time.
An O-3 visa is available to family members of O-1 or O-2 visa holders.
So if you hold an O-1 visa, your spouse can receive an O-2, and family members of O-1 and O-2 holders can in turn receive O-3 visas to remain in the U.S.
