I lost my green card card abroad — is there anything I can do?
I was in Korea and lost my green card card. I also don’t remember my A-number, which is one of the key pieces of information related to my green card.
I don’t know how I’m supposed to enter the U.S.
If you lost your green card abroad, to enter the U.S., you can visit a U.S. embassy abroad and obtain a Transportation Letter, then enter with that. In Korea, this would be through the U.S. Embassy in Korea. This travel letter serves as a kind of document allowing a green card holder who lost their card to enter the U.S. in permanent resident status at the port of entry.
