I’d like to know about the process of receiving an immigrant visa at the embassy.

You receive an interview appointment, go to the U.S. Embassy, and if the interview is successful, the immigrant visa is issued directly into your passport on the spot — meaning a stamp and signature process. After that, once you arrive in the U.S. with that visa, you’re fingerprinted at the airport security checkpoint upon entry, and about a month after entry, your green card card is delivered to your home by mail.
