I’d like to know whether my child, who has DACA status, can leave for Korea and return afterward.

There is a way for a DACA recipient to leave and re-enter by applying in advance for advance travel authorization. Travel authorization for someone with DACA status is generally not as difficult to obtain as one might think. This travel authorization not only allows them to leave, obtain a visa abroad (such as in Korea), but also grants pre-approved permission for re-entry. In practice, re-entry is approved close to 100% of the time under this authorization, so if there’s an unavoidable reason to travel, we recommend applying for advance travel authorization beforehand.
