If I change status within the U.S., could I be unable to re-enter later?
I’ve heard that if I change status within the U.S., I might not be able to re-enter later if I go to Korea and try to come back.
Is this actually true?

If you enter the U.S. with one visa and then change status, the prior visa becomes void, and you’d need to apply for and receive a new visa matching your current status to re-enter. This is decided based on the embassy’s own review standards, essentially the same process as applying for a new visa. Whether re-entry becomes difficult depends on that review.
