I’m planning to enter the U.S. on a fiancé(e) visa. I’d like to know roughly when the visa will be issued after applying, and whether a mistake during the interview could result in the visa not being issued.
For a fiancé(e) visa, you can generally expect to be called in for an interview about 3 months after applying. If the relationship is genuine, we don’t expect there to be significant issues from a mistake during the interview. As long as you’ve prepared solid documentation showing the engagement is genuine, the visa not being issued shouldn’t be a concern.
