I’m going through an employment-based second-preference case, and it’s been more than 4 months since my LC was filed with no update at all. I also haven’t been able to reach the local immigration attorney handling my case.
I’d like to know how I can check on this myself. I’m going through second-preference employment-based immigration — is it normal for this to take this long?
Can I check the labor department’s processing status myself using the receipt number starting with ‘A-‘?
You should expect anywhere from a minimum of about 3 months to as long as 10 months. Also, there isn’t a way to check this independently outside of the process.
