The expiration date shown on my I-94 issued at entry is different from my visa’s expiration date. The I-94 shows a shorter period.
I’d like to know which one takes priority, and whether staying longer than the I-94’s validity period could cause a visa problem.

In this case, you should treat the I-94 as the controlling date for your status expiration. You’ll need to get this corrected, and that correction has to be done through a CBP office.
