Question about applying for H-1B in a field unrelated to my major or experience
I graduated from college, but I’d like to know if I can apply for H-1B in a job field and position unrelated to my major.
I also have no experience in that field. My original major was in the arts, and I’m now considering switching to a CPA-related field. I’d like to know if I can still apply even without a related background.
To apply for an H-1B visa, generally only someone who has graduated from a 4-year university, or has equivalent experience, can apply. Also, your major or experience must have a direct connection to the work you’ll be doing at the sponsoring company in the U.S. Whether you meet the eligibility requirements would depend on your specific sponsoring company and the actual work you’d be doing.
