Whether a conditional green card can be waived if the marriage in Korea lasted a long time
I got married in Korea more than 10 years ago.
My spouse was originally a citizen. In this case, if I now receive an immigrant visa after being married for over 10 years, I’d like to know if I can get a permanent green card directly, rather than going through the conditional stage.
Yes — if you receive your visa and enter the U.S. before 2 years have passed since your immigration petition was filed, you’ll receive a conditional green card, but if you enter more than 2 years after filing, you can receive a permanent green card directly, without the conditional stage.
