I’m currently in the Grace Period after finishing OPT. The company I was working for is asking me to work for a few more months.
I’d like to know if I’m allowed to work and get paid during this Grace Period.
Also, because of good past performance, I’m set to receive additional payment after OPT ended — since this is being paid for work done without work authorization, could that also be an issue?

Generally, no, you cannot. If you do end up working, be sure to get a letter confirming you did not work during the Grace Period. If the payment is for work done in the past, get a letter or documentation explaining this to have ready in case it’s questioned.
