Financial sponsorship concerns from past tax filing records when applying for a marriage-based green card
I’d like to know if it would be a problem for approval if the sponsor’s tax filings for the past 2 years were low when going through a marriage-based green card process. The problem is that they’ve been filing lower than their actual income.
This year they plan to report their full actual earnings — would recent finances be given significant weight as well?
Past records are just past records — what really matters is the most recent income, so if recent income reporting is higher, that will be weighted more heavily.
