How many days after graduation do I need to apply for OPT? I’ve heard it’s also fine to apply up to 90 days before graduation — is that correct?

If you remain unemployed for 90 days or more after receiving OPT authorization, your OPT is automatically canceled, and you should remember that if your total unemployment period across the entire OPT term exceeds 90 days, your OPT status is also automatically extinguished.
