I recently received a final denial of my green card application from USCIS, and I’ve heard removal proceedings could begin as a result.
I’d like to know the process for how removal proceedings actually begin, and whether a notice would also be mailed to my home.

Removal proceedings may sometimes be signaled in advance through the USCIS denial notice itself, but formally, removal proceedings begin when USCIS delivers a document called a Notice to Appear to both the individual (who is out of status) and the immigration court. In other words, proceedings officially begin only once you receive this Notice to Appear — the notice that removal proceedings are starting.
