I left the company that sponsored my green card and am now going to my green card interview.
I’m going through an EB-2 green card process, and my I-485 has been filed and is pending. I have an interview coming up soon, but I only worked briefly at the company that sponsored my green card before leaving.
I haven’t since moved to another company — I currently run my own personal business.
My question is whether it’s okay to just bring the tax records from my time working at the sponsoring company to the interview.
I’m worried that leaving the sponsoring company before the interview could be grounds for denial.
What matters is whether the sponsoring company genuinely intended to hire you for the position. I expect they’ll ask at the interview what work you did at the sponsoring company. Bring documentation from the company you left showing that they genuinely employed you, or intended to. Also bring your W-2 tax records to the interview.
