Question about an I-140 request for additional evidence and the validity period of my medical exam
After filing I-140 and I-485, I received a request for additional evidence related to I-140.
I’d like to know if I need to redo my medical exam and fingerprinting if I send the additional documents after the 1-year validity period has passed.
Generally, once the medical exam’s validity period has passed, USCIS tends to still honor the previously submitted exam rather than requesting a new one. However, some examining officers do ask for a new medical exam — this often happens when the officer doesn’t review the case carefully and mechanically requests resubmission.
