Hello. I was a student and am currently briefly in Korea, and I’m planning to apply for OPT and then go to the U.S.
I’m currently discussing my OPT work start date with the company. I’d like to know when I need to start working after OPT approval.
I’d also like to know what essential steps are needed to properly carry out OPT without violating immigration law.

You must start working within 90 days of OPT approval. Also, you need to contact your school and report the company name, address, phone number, position, and start date, so the school can record this in SEVIS and submit it to USCIS.
