Question about online classes in the U.S. and applying for OPT from Korea
I had my last semester of college left in the U.S., but classes switched to online, so I ended up taking them from Korea.
Afterward, I’d like to graduate and apply for OPT to gain work experience in the U.S. — I’d like to know if I can apply for OPT from Korea, and whether I can still enter the U.S. and work even though my F-1 student visa/I-20 is ending.
Even if you take your last semester online from Korea, you can still apply for OPT. Afterward, if you bring 1) your OPT approval notice and 2) an employment letter from the employer where you’ll be working under OPT, you should be able to enter without issue and gain work experience in the U.S. during the OPT period.
