International travel after my green card card has expired
My green card card has expired and I’m waiting for the renewal, but it looks like I need to go to Korea because a family member is sick.
I’d like to know if I can re-enter after my green card card’s validity period has expired.
You can travel internationally as a green card holder even after the card has expired. We recommend carrying documentation showing that you’ve applied for renewal when re-entering, and if you’re considering an extended stay of 6 months or more, please consider applying for a Reentry Permit.
