I’m working on an H1-B visa and have a question about changing jobs and PERM processing
Hello! I’m currently working on an H1-B visa and am considering switching companies, so I have a few related questions.
My company said they’d start the PERM process around the end of December last year — if I switch now, would the new company need to start the whole process over from scratch? I’ve heard that once 180 days have passed since filing the green card application, you don’t need to restart even if you switch companies — I’d like to know if that’s correct.
During PERM, you’d need to restart with a new company. The 180-day rule refers to the period after filing I-485.
