Is a financial sponsor required in an employment-based case?
I’m going through an EB-3 employment-based green card case. I asked about a financial sponsor and was told it wasn’t separately required — I’d like to know if that’s really true for employment-based cases.
In an employment-based case, the general view is that a separate financial sponsor typically isn’t required, because the employer’s ability to pay the offered wage serves to verify financial sufficiency. However, if the company’s owner is not a U.S. citizen, or is a relative or family member of the applicant, a separate affidavit of support may be required.
