My son is a green card holder — I’d like to go to Korea and go through the sponsorship process from there.
I’ve been out of status in the U.S. for 3 years now. My son has already obtained his green card, so I’m planning to have him become a citizen and then sponsor me as his immediate relative, going to Korea and coming back once that’s arranged. People around me strongly urged me to consult first before leaving, which is why I’m asking here. Would there be any problem going to Korea and then obtaining a green card that way?
