Not sure if it’s better to file my E-2 visa renewal in Korea or the U.S.

For someone who received their E-2 visa in Korea and then entered the U.S., an immigration attorney or agency in Korea will likely tell you that filing the renewal in Korea is best. That’s because you can easily get the visa in Korea and travel there, and if you extend within the U.S. past the 2-year mark, you’d eventually need to go get a new visa in Korea anyway. Also, when you travel to Korea and re-enter, you’re granted another 2 years of stay at the airport upon entry, which reduces the time pressure of renewing again.
