Question about Form 1040, W-2, and financial sponsorship documents
To document tax filings, I’d like to know if the last 3 months of pay stubs would be sufficient. Are the tax return (Form 1040) and W-2 the same thing?
I’d also like to know if just 1 year of records is enough, and whether I need to state income figures as well.
The tax return (e.g., Form 1040) and the W-2 are different forms. You should submit your most recent tax return, and you’ll need to list your income for the past 3 years on Form I-864. Also, please have your supervisor or employer include the company letterhead and sign a letter stating your position, wage, and length of employment.
