I’ve been in the U.S. for a bit less than 2 years.
I’m currently a crime victim, and the perpetrator has been arrested and is going through investigation and trial. I’d like to know if I’m eligible to apply for a U visa in this situation.

A U visa allows temporary lawful status for 4 years and even work authorization, but because of the requirement to have resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years, unfortunately you don’t meet the eligibility requirements for a U visa.
