What to do if my I-485 outcome is taking far too long
It’s been more than 9 months since I filed I-485 for unskilled employment-based immigration. My sponsoring company is now saying they might close due to a poor economy.
In this situation, I’m not sure whether I should keep waiting or look for another option.
Do you have any good ideas?
After filing I-485, if you’re at risk of the company closing due to its circumstances, you can still continue your green card process by transferring to a different company, as a form of relief. If it’s hard to find another company, as a last resort, you could even establish your own company and sponsor yourself. This is legally recognized, so if the company’s closure becomes definite, please proceed as quickly as possible.
