Whether I can obtain a green card through a citizen spouse who has significant credit card debt
My future spouse is a U.S. citizen, but has had significant credit card debt from the past up to now, and I’ve heard this could make the green card process difficult.
I’m worried about whether I can still get a green card by marrying in this situation.
USCIS doesn’t investigate debt — they check whether the future spouse can financially support you through financial documentation, so if they’ve been making regular payments and have steady income, we don’t think this would be a major problem.
