I’m working at a U.S. company on H-1B status. Due to company circumstances, my job has ended, and I’m preparing to transfer to a new company — I’d like to know if I can visit Korea briefly in the meantime and still be able to re-enter.
My visa still has time left before expiring, so I think it should be possible, but I’d like to know in advance before proceeding.

In principle, an H-1B holder’s visa is interpreted as ending once they leave their job. So if you visit Korea after leaving your job, and the U.S. doesn’t know or can’t find out about this upon your return, you might be let back in, but if they ask about this and discover the facts, entry could be denied. This is because your H-1B has already ended along with your departure from the job.
