Whether USCIS fees can be paid with a law firm’s check
I’d like to know whether USCIS fees can be paid using a law firm’s check.
I’m going through a family-based petition. I paid my immigration attorney the full amount, including USCIS fees, and was told the fees would be sent using the law firm’s check.
Can USCIS accept a check that isn’t mine, but the attorney’s or someone else’s?
That’s not a problem.
When paying USCIS fees, checks from someone else — a personal check belonging to another individual — are accepted.
If you write the green card or citizenship number of the check’s owner in the memo line, USCIS will trust that information and proceed accordingly.
