Do I need to file for a Reentry Permit while in the U.S.?
I’d like to apply for a reentry visa to maintain my green card.
I’m currently in Korea — do I need to be physically present in the U.S. to file this application?

Yes, you cannot apply for a reentry permit from abroad. Even if you did apply, you would still need to go in for fingerprinting, so you’ll ultimately need to be residing in the U.S. to file. Another option to consider is traveling to Guam, which is U.S. territory, to file the application there.
