If I can’t get my green card card extended
I’m a green card holder. I need to go to Korea, but my green card renewal is taking so long that I’m not sure what to do.
Would re-filing by mail speed things up a bit?

It’s not really ‘green card renewal’ — it’s simply that your green card card’s validity period has expired, similar to a driver’s license expiring. Even if your green card card’s validity period has expired or passed, it won’t prevent you from entering after visiting Korea. Since issuance takes a long time, you can simply travel with your filed application documents and evidence.
