If I get flagged for an audit at the PERM stage
My green card process started in August of the year before last, and I’m currently flagged for an audit at the PERM stage.
I’d like to know if I absolutely must respond to the audit in this case.
And if I do respond, after submitting all the documents and waiting for an update, I’d like to know how long it would take to get a result.
If a green card case gets flagged for an audit, responding to it can sometimes take even longer depending on the content, so while you should respond, in many cases it’s actually better to start fresh instead. The judgment of your handling attorney matters here.
An attorney has an obligation to respond once an audit is issued.
