I’m going through a green card process, but I’m not being told my receipt number or anything.
Hello. I’ve been working at a restaurant for a long time on the promise that they would sponsor me for an employment-based green card.
They tell me the green card application has been filed, but they won’t tell me how it’s progressing or even give me a receipt number.
I’d like to know if there’s any way to check the receipt number or status using my Social Security number or name.
Contact the attorney the company hired directly and ask for a copy of the I-140 approval notice, and if you can get a copy of the check used for payment, you might also check details there. However, there is no way to look this up using your Social Security number.
