I’ve never officially registered our marriage — I’d like to know if a green card is still possible
I lived with my partner in the U.S. without officially registering the marriage, and we’re now essentially separating like a divorce. We have a daughter together, but I’m not the one raising her.
Is there a way for me to still apply for a green card?
A marriage-based green card requires a marriage certificate. Even though you have a daughter, in this situation, your partner would need to serve as your sponsor for a filing to be possible.
