Whether I can apply for NIW without any publication history
I don’t have much of a publication history, but my major falls into a somewhat specialized subfield, so I’d like to apply under NIW EB-2. I’d like to know what my odds might be.

Realistically, if you lack a publication history, the chance of denial for NIW under EB-2 is high. And even if your specialty is a specialized field, there are many specialized fields within the U.S. That said, if you plan and prepare well around why you’d benefit the U.S., there’s no guarantee it can’t work — but statistically, the odds are low.
