I’ve previously received a deportation order. In this situation, I’d like to know what problems I might expect if I proceed with I-130 through marriage.

If there’s a deportation order (including voluntary departure), there are cases where ICE waits to arrest someone at the I-130 interview. This practice was already ruled unlawful in Maryland, yet other states unaware of that ruling still sometimes wait to make an arrest. So we recommend consulting with an attorney and preparing thoroughly in advance before proceeding.
